About Us
Catch The Promise is a 501(c)(3) non-profit Breast Cancer organization designed to empower the community while specifically focusing on reducing Breast Cancer mortality rates. There are some Breast Cancer subtypes that are, basically, more aggressive than others and there are certain communities that fall into a higher risk category. Since early detection is the key to survival, our desire is to minimize the complacency that usually precedes a late stage diagnosis.
CTP is a "call for action" to encourage individuals to proactively take charge and become their own health advocate. Knowing that faith requires action, our prayer is that this will stimulate us all to "Catch the Promise" by doing our part and will furthermore help us to trust that God will fulfill His promise to do His part.
Mission
To educate underserved and high risk communities with Breast Cancer risk factors in order to minimize complacency that could lead to a late stage diagnosis.
Vision
To eliminate health disparities and reduce Breast Cancer mortality rates while restoring trust between African American communities and medical providers.
Objectives
CTP is dedicated to bringing the following services to high-risk communities.
-
Educating individuals on Breast Cancer risk-factors.
-
Encouraging communities to get involved with clinical trials.
-
Bringing awareness to high-risk individuals who carry a genetic mutation.
-
Empowering individuals with a knowledge of resources.
-
Teaching individuals how to develop great health habits.
-
Providing a support group for Breast Cancer survivors and their families.
Strategy
Catch The Promise plans to accomplish our objectives through community engagement. We will communicate and share educational materials at events to include Breast Cancer risk factors, the importance of early detection, and developing healthy lifestyle habits. Catch The Promise will also hold educational speaking events to restore trust between African American communities and medical communities. African American communities have a higher level of distrust in the medical system. This mistrust leads to being diagnosed with diseases at a later stage which leads to a poorer prognosis.
